Ron taught me to run properly, and I just completed my 4th Half-Marathon, beating my time this year by 20 minutes! The small group ciruit sessions I do with Jayson have kept me at the level of fitness I want to maintain from Boot Camp. With personal training, I have gone from a Size 46 to a 38. I can run 3 miles without stopping, and best of all - I feel great about myself. I love the high-tempo workouts and the variety of the workout routines to keep wokrouts from getting boring. As of now, I'm 50 POUNDS down and feeling great.

I came to SWAT to get stronger and build up my endurance for my weekend hobby of hot air ballooning. Jana set me up with Ms. Mikhail and I am happy she did. Since starting with Mikhail in February I have felt a marked difference in my endurance and I am able to keep up with the men while out ballooning! As a bonus I am losing weight!

I am still a work in progress, but I would not train with anyone other than Mikhail. She has a great attitude which helps motivate me during our training sessions. I originally approached SWAT because I had an upcoming class reunion. I just wanted to look good and feel proud of the way I looked—so I talked to Ron, with SWAT Personal Training. I had no idea how much of an impact this small step would have on my life. Ron loaned me a “Body of Work” video, and I was truly inspired. That day I made that important decision to change my life.

I began a 12-week program which included having Ron as my fitness trainer, although the term just isn’t enough to describe him and the impact S.W.A.T. has had in my life. Ron gave me nutrition expertise and guidance, and pushed me harder than I would or could have ever pushed myself. I quickly learned that I could call at any time with questions, or when I needed a little extra motivation to skip that pizza for lunch.

I am determined and motivated because I had a trainer who is excited about life. Ron and his S.W.A.T. trainers truly want others to know that same excitement. When I finally made the decision to do something about my weight, I weighed in at over 340 lbs. I got tired of being overweight and not feeling well. I'd wake up each morning and my feet would be sore and tight. I'm 27, and I thought, "I shouldn't feel this crappy and if I don't change it now, it's just going to get harder to lose the weight and change my habits."

It was also frustrating to go into stores and not be able to just grab something off the rack and know it would fit. I decided to bite the bullet. Getting a personal trainer seemed like a big financial commitment, but I was willing to do it to get my health squared away.

I talked to my wife several times about it and around the first of the year our family tried to do a diet together. That lasted about six weeks, and then I signed up with SWAT Personal Training. I began working with a trainer Monday, Wednesday and Friday and did cardio on my own the other days. I've lost over 60 lbs at SWAT.

Is it frustrating? Yes. Are there plateaus? Yes. You have to look at lean muscle mass versus body fat. During my first plateau the numbers were significant. I had gained 5 percent muscle and dropped 5 percent body fat.

I've learned to focus on the long-term goal rather than whether I lost my two pounds for the week. I focus on how far I have come, and that my body is still changing and getting stronger.

Fifty Pound Weight Loss & Still Losing!

erik nowI first met up with SWAT in August of 2006 and for whatever reason, I put off making SWAT an integral part of my workout routine until September 2007 when I started my 1st boot camp.  If only I would have started sooner!  

Since September 2007, my progress has been leaps and bounds above my wildest expectations and has resulted in more progress towards a total lifestyle change for myself in 6 months then I had in 5 years of trying to get into shape by myself.  I have seen results in my physical fitness level I never thought possible, as well as have made great new friends with others who have also chosen to make SWAT a part of their lifestyle.  

The passion & dedication Ron & Trey put into the morning boot camps, as well as the encouragement/motivation provided has made it hard to not to want to get out of bed every morning at 4:45 AM and near impossible not to succeed.  No two mornings have been alike, and after 6 boot camps to date, that is quite remarkable. Every boot camp and every morning has been a new challenge. There are numerous favorable things to list about SWAT, however one word to sum it all up is   RESULTS.


My Results:

In my point of view, results are more than just a pound number.  Results are the laying of a foundation to sustain a total lifestyle change.

swatfitness beforeSince September I have dropped 10 inches in pants as well as 2 complete shirt sizes.  Outside on the track, I now run a complete mile in under 10 minutes compared to not even being able to run a full π mile in September. Results.  I have been whooped into a physical fitness level where a 20 mile bike ride followed by a grueling 10 mile hike in the Catalina's is not out of the ordinary on a weekend for me.  

I am not where I want to be yet, but I am 50 pounds closer & 6 minutes quicker then where I was in August.  The next step now for me will be SWAT Kombat Kettlebells with Trey.

If you are thinking about SWAT, don't make the same mistake I did and wait an entire year to get started.  Join now, you will be amazed at the results.

Starting Weight: 254 Currently: 226

My fiancé and I wanted to get in shape for our wedding in June of 2008.   We wanted to work out together but not in a “traditional” gym environment. I was so out of shape and needed to somehow get back to working out.

The diet and nutrition information is such an important part of the program.The strict regimen is exactly what I needed to jump start my weight loss and fitness improvement.

Keeping a food journal initially was an important part of adjusting my attitudes about food choices and nutrition. I feel I can now make healthy, balanced food choices without really dieting. 

I like the exercises that combine weight training and cardio together. Our personal trainers are great with mixing up the routines.  Adding core, weight and cardio training all together is challenging and something completely new and different.

Where I am Today: I have lost 28 lbs and now weigh 226 lbs.  I am sleeping better with no snoring and feel rested after 6-7 hours of sleep. 

My waist has gone from a 40” to a 36”.   I’m eating healthy without dieting and counting calories or writing everything in a journal.
